WEEKLY QUOTE  “October is the fallen leaf, but it is also a wider horizon more clearly seen. It is the distant hills once more in sight, and the enduring constellations above them once again.” – Hal Borland, American author

NOVEMBER PROGRAMS  Our new Family Book Club continues with The Guardians of Ga’hoole: The Capture on the 10th.  All parents and children are welcome.  We’re also hosting a Pokemon card hunt on the 19th (and don’t forget that the library is a Pokemon gym and near several Pokestops.)  For adults, we’re offering an all-day drop-in coloring session so you can de-stress and create your own abstract bookmarks on Monday the 14th.  Drop-in computer help sessions will be on the 1st, 5th, 19th, and 22nd, and Social Hour will be on the 9th.

JUST ARRIVED  We’re on the edge of the holiday season.  If some of your potential guests can’t eat certain foods restrictions, check out Danielle Walker's Against All Grain Celebrations for recipes to fit gluten-free, dairy-free, and paleo diets.  For two very different looks at aging, check out the non-fiction My Sixtieth Year for a meditation on growing older, or try the comedic novel The Alzhammer, about a mob boss who battles dementia while evading his rivals’ hit men.  Entertain your budding young super hero with The Science Behind Batman’s Flying Machines or The Science Behind Batman’s Ground Vehicles, and inspire dog loves and artists with new ways of creating pictures in DIY Dog Portrait.

We welcome your QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, CONCERNS, PURCHASE REQUESTS, AND PROGRAMMING IDEAS.  Contact us at 312 Washington Street, ogdlib@ncls.org, 393-4325, or through any of our social media sites (you can do a search for Ogdensburg Public Library, or find the links on our website.)
