WORD OF THE WEEK  Arctophile: Someone who collects or studies teddy bears.

TAX FORMS  Both Federal and State forms are now available at the library.  Their numbers are very limited, and we are not able to reorder, so you may wish to stop in soon.  These are mostly the basic return forms.  If you need a form we do not have, you can print it out from the internet at the library for a cost of fifteen cents per page.

MOVIE NIGHT  Our monthly movie night will be this Thursday the 16th at 5:30 PM.  We’ll be watching a film about a group of children with some very peculiar gifts.  Popcorn and soda will be provided.

OPEN MIC  We have a late addition to our February calendar.  Please join us next Thursday the 23rd from 6:30 – 7:30 PM, when the library will be hosting a poetry reading and open mic night.  We encourage you to bring your own short pieces to share.

ZOO VISIT  Stop in to the library next Friday the 24th at 2 PM to see animals from the Thompson Park Zoo in person (so to speak.)  This is usually a very popular event, so we recommend you arrive early to make sure you find a good seat.

REGULAR PROGRAMS  Music and Movement for toddlers is Tuesday at 10 AM.  Story Time for ages 3 – 6, with picture books and crafts, falls on Wednesday and Saturday at 10:30 AM.  Computer help hours will be held this Saturday the 18th from 11 AM – 12 PM.  Call the library or check out our website for all the details on all of our upcoming events.

HOLIDAY  The library will be closed next Monday, February 20th in honor of Presidents’ Day.  If your children have a school vacation, why not keep them busy by bringing them to the library during the rest of the week?

JUST ARRIVED  Read about the world of early female athletes in Bloomer Girls (about all-women baseball teams in the 19th century) and Dust Bowl Girls (about an all-woman basketball team in the 1930s.)  Looking ahead to summer?  50 Great American Places may have a few tips on making your next vacation both fun and informative.  If you’re thinking of picking up a new craft, why not try Embroidery for the Absolute Beginner, Paper Collage Chinese Style, or Encaustic Art?  If you want to expand your culinary skills, try our latest cookbook, Turkish Delights.  Finally, to encourage your children’s imaginations and stretch your own creative muscles, check out Pirates and Pompoms for patterns and ideas on making costumes and toys.

We welcome your QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, CONCERNS, PURCHASE REQUESTS, AND PROGRAMMING IDEAS.  Contact us at 312 Washington Street, ogdlib@ncls.org, 393-4325, or through any of our social media sites (you can do a search for Ogdensburg Public Library or find the links on our website, ogdlib.org.)

WEEKLY HOURS are 9 AM to 8 PM Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, and 9 AM to 5 PM on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.  We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at your library!
