WEEKLY QUOTE  I love any excuse to come to New York - when it's not February. – K. A. Applegate, children and young adult author

TAX FORMS  Federal and state forms and instructions have arrived.  (The exception, the Federal 1040s, were sent to us last week and should be here shortly.)  Due to new regulations we will not receive any more shipments this year, so do not delay your trip in to pick them up.  Forms we do not have on paper or that have run out can be printed out at home or at the library for a small fee.  Library staff cannot offer tax advice.  The St. Lawrence County Office for the Aging is offering free classes on Thursdays from 9 AM – 1 PM at the Rescue Squad building on Pickering Street.

WATCH OUT FOR BIRDS  Let us help you kick off the winter break this month.  Come to the library on Saturday the 13th at 11 AM to learn about local kinds of birds and make your own birdfeeder to hang in your yard or from your porch.  This project will involve the use of peanut butter, nuts, and seeds.

REGULAR PROGRAMS  Music and Movement for toddlers is Tuesday at 10 AM.  Story Time for ages 3 – 6, with picture books and crafts, is Wednesday at 10:30 AM.  This week’s theme is “plants.”  Drop-In Computer Help for one-on-one basic computer and eReader tips will be tonight (February 2nd) from 6 PM – 7 PM and Saturday February 6th from 11 AM – 12 PM.  Social Hour, with coffee and treats to eat, will be next Wednesday, the 10th, from 2 PM – 3 PM.  Call the library or check out our website for details on all of our programming.

CAKE PANS  Looking to make a sweet Valentine’s treat?  Don’t forget about our stock of specialty baking pans and cookbooks.  You’re sure to find something new and delicious.

JUST ARRIVED  Want to catch up on some favorite television shows?  Thanks to recent donations, we’ve added several seasons of Breaking Bad and The Wire, plus one of Homicide: Life on the Street.  The spinoff Fear the Walking Dead is also available.  If you’re a fan of the late author Robert B. Parker or actor Tom Selleck, check out one of our just-purchased DVDs of the TV movies featuring detective Jesse Stone.  Down in the children’s room, we’ve filled in some of the gaps in our Disney movie collection, with selections ranging from The Black Cauldron to The Princess and the Frog.

We welcome your QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, CONCERNS, PURCHASE REQUESTS, AND PROGRAMMING IDEAS.  Contact us at 312 Washington Street, ogdlib@ncls.org, 393-4325, or through any of our social media sites (you can do a search for Ogdensburg Public Library, or find the links on our website.)

WEEKLY HOURS are 9 AM to 8 PM Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and 9 AM to 5 PM on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.  The library will be closed on Monday, February 15, in honor of Presidents’ Day.  We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at your library!
