WEEKLY QUOTE  "I wonder if the sap is stirring yet, if wintry birds are dreaming of a mate, if frozen snowdrops feel as yet the sun and crocus fires are kindling one by one; sing robin, sing; I still am sore in doubt concerning Spring." – Christina Rossetti, poet

MOVIE NIGHT  Join us for a PG-rated and animated flick featuring a large dinosaur and his small pet this Thursday, the 24th, at 5:30 PM.  We’ll provide the popcorn!

NINJAS  The ninjas have returned, and they’ve hidden eggs all over the library.  Bravely face down their challenges, earn your training certificate, and find out all their secrets (and the locations of their candy) this Saturday, the 26th, at 11 AM.

REGULAR PROGRAMS  Music and Movement for toddlers is Tuesday at 10 AM.  Story Time for ages 3 – 6, with picture books and crafts, is Wednesday at 10:30 AM.  Drop-in computer help is tonight, the 22nd, from 6 – 7 PM.  April’s social hour will be a week early at 2 PM on the 6th.  Call the library or check out our website for details on all of our programming.

LIBRARY WEEK  National Library Week is coming soon, and we’re inviting you to celebrate with us.  We have five days of activities planned, as well as fun exhibits and games that will be going on all week.  Look forward to crafts, classes on gardening and yoga, a visit from the animals at Thompson Park Zoo, and a lecture on local stained glass artists.  We’ll also have daily coffee tastings, library bingo, a self-guided tour of the building, and more.  Details are available at our website and on flyers at the library – or just wait until next week, when the full schedule will appear in this column.

JUST ARRIVED  This week sees new novels by Jacquelyn Mitchard, T. Jefferson Parker, J. A. Jance, Tracy Chevalier, C. S. Harris, Rhys Bowen, Donna Leon, and C. J. Box on our shelves.  If you’re in the mood for something lyrical or contemplative, check out Mary Oliver’s latest poems in Felicity or Annie Dillard’s latest collection of essays, The Abundance.  The children’s room has added another shipment of donated board books.  If your child loves Batman, read them our collection of DC superhero books and let them learn about everything from verbs to why we need sleep.  We also have new Star Wars books – from the Force Awakens tie-in Rolling with BB-8 to inspired recreations of the original trilogy with felted dolls.  Several of the other board books have parts that move, click, and even roar.  You’ll have to stop in to see them for yourself!

We welcome your QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, CONCERNS, PURCHASE REQUESTS, AND PROGRAMMING IDEAS.  Contact us at 312 Washington Street, ogdlib@ncls.org, 393-4325, or through any of our social media sites (you can do a search for Ogdensburg Public Library, or find the links on our website.)

WEEKLY HOURS are 9 AM to 8 PM Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and 9 AM to 5 PM on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday.  The library will close at noon this Friday, March 25 and reopen at 9 AM on Saturday the 26th.  We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at your library!
