WORD OF THE WEEK Desipience – Foolishness or silliness
TAX HELP There are still some open slots for free tax help and electronic filing tomorrow April 5th from 10 AM to 4 PM. These individual sessions, lasting about an hour, will be conducted by volunteers from the New York State Tax Department. Please see our website for details and requirements.
EGG DYEING Join us this Thursday at 5 PM. We’ll start off with a nature walk around the park (weather permitting.) Indoors we’ll learn how to dye hard-boiled eggs with natural materials and use the leaves we’ve collected to create silhouettes on the shells.
NATIONAL LIBRARY WEEK We’re kicking off the week on Monday with an early Social Hour at 2 PM and a trial Silver Sneakers class at 3:30. On Tuesday, come in at 1:30 for a class in seed saving given by a master gardener from Cornell Cooperative Extension. Wednesday brings an adult coloring circle at 10 AM and a second social hour just for seniors at 10:30. For Thursday, participate in our Family Book Club at 5 PM, or learn how to use basic sewing skills to create easy-but-stunning fabric flowers at 2 PM. Finally, on Saturday we’ll be holding our annual egg hunt and ninja training camp beginning at 11 AM. If you can’t make it to any of the scheduled events, drop in any time for coffee or to grab a “mystery” book – you won’t know what you have until you get home and unwrap it. All week long, we’ll be offering an amnesty program for almost-lost items. If you have a book or DVD that belongs to the library hanging around your house and you’ve been too embarrassed to return it, bring it in along with a non-perishable food item for the food bank and your fines on that item will be forgiven.
REGULAR PROGRAMS Music and Movement for toddlers is Tuesday at 10 AM. Story Time for ages 3 – 6, with picture books and crafts, is on Wednesday and Saturday at 10:30 AM. Drop-in computer help hour will be tonight the 4th at 6 PM. Call the library or check out our website for all the details on all of our upcoming events.
