FAMILY BOOK CLUB This month we’re reading Roller Girl by Victoria Jamieson. Join us this Thursday the 27th at 5 PM to discuss the book, pick out a roller derby name, and decorate a t-shirt. Curious but haven’t read the book? Come participate anyway!
SUMMER READING Now that school is over, blast off with this year’s summer reading program, featuring stellar prizes. This year’s theme is A Universe of Stories. Stop by the library for all the details and to pick up a reading log.
SUMMER EVENTS Like meeting new animals? The Utica Zoo will be here next Wednesday July 3rd at 1 PM, and Repco will be here the following Thursday, the 11th, at 2 PM. We’ll have summer space crafts for children on Wednesdays July 10th and 17th and August 7th, 21st, and 28th. Children ages 10 and up can make a solar system necklace on Thursday August 1st and a galaxy in a bottle on the 8th, and teens can design and make a 3D piece of pixel art on Thursday the 22nd, all at 2 PM. (Adult crafts will be on Thursday July 11th and Thursday August 8th.) If your child likes music, join performer Nan Hoffman on Wednesday July 24th at 2:30 PM, and bring them in for a drum circle on Wednesday August 14th at 1 PM. Social Hours will be on Wednesdays July 10th and August 14th, Movie Nights will be on Thursdays July 18th and August 15th, and Family Book Club will finish out the months on July 25th and August 29th. Drop-in computer help will be on the 1st and 4th Tuesdays and the 1st and 3rd Saturdays unless otherwise noted. The library will also be hosting Narcan training by St. Lawrence County for adults and children grade 6 and up (with guardian present) on Thursday July 25th at 6 PM. Finally, mark Sunday, July 21st on your calendar – the Friends will be hosting a children’s carnival with games, prizes, and a special book sale.
REGULAR PROGRAMS Music and Movement for toddlers is Tuesday at 10 AM. Stories and Songs, for ages 2 – 4, is on Saturdays at 10 AM. Drop-in computer help will be tonight the 25th and next Tuesday the 2nd from 6 – 7 PM and next Saturday the 6th from 11 AM – 12 PM. Call the library or check online for all of the details on all of our upcoming events.
HOLIDAY The library will be closed next Thursday July 4th and on Saturday the 27th.
