FUNFEST  We’re kicking off the Seaway Festival on Sunday July 23rd with a Funfest in the park to compliment the Remington’s Wild West BBQ.  Stop by for a petting zoo, a clown, stories, crafts, and more.  Some events are free; others (like the bounce house, games, and refreshments) are part of a fundraiser by the Friends of the Library.  There will also be two quilt raffles: one for an Angry Birds Star Wars twin-size, and another for a one-foot square barn quilt.  The book sale will also be open for browsing.  All proceeds will be used to support library programming and operations in the future.  Drop by between 11 AM and 2 PM and enjoy!

BOOK SALE  The summer book sale is finally here.  Doors will open at 5 PM this Thursday the 20th, when Friends of the Library receive a 50% discount.  Normal costs are $3 for a hardcover book and 75 cents for a paperback.  That decreases to $2 and 50 cents on Friday, then to $1 and 25 cents on Saturday, where prices will remain until Thursday the 27th.  We’ll be holding a $3 bag sale this year on Friday the 28th only.  The library will be closed on Saturday the 29th.  We also have a wide selection of CDs, DVDs, puzzles and more.  You’re sure to find something to your taste.
