Imagine Your Story Summer Reading at Ogdensburg Public Library
What is Summer Reading?
Summer reading is an important activity for children and teens to help prevent the summer slide in reading levels. Schools, school libraries, public libraries and families
can help students to read over the holidays by working together with support, encouragement, and access to enjoyable reading material.
Summer Reading starts 4/15 and runs till August 31st.
How do I participate?
Step One: Read a book or a chapter from a book.
Step Two: Fill in the reading log or any paper you have with the title, author and number of chapters read. One picture book counts as one chapter.
Step Three: Bring your reading log into the library to collect your prizes, register and record your reading using http://ogdlib.ny14.readsquared.com/ or email your reading to SummerReadingOBURG2020@gmail.com
If you choose to use email please include your first and last name so we can give you proper credit for your reading.
All prizes will be collected at the library when we reopen.
Why Should I participate?
Children who participate in summer reading do better in school when they return in the fall.
Why else should I participate?
