BOOK SALE The Friends of the Library book sale is almost here. From Thursday at 6 PM through Saturday, they will be selling books, CDs, DVDs and more upstairs in the auditorium. There are plenty of great deals, so make time to stop in.
THANKSGIVING CRAFTS Our Gratitude Garland will be hanging around the library again this month. All through November, drop in with your child and fill out a leaf to add to the display. If you would like a take-home variation, our adult craft this month is a Thankfulness Tree. Making it takes just a few minutes, and you can ask friends and family to add their thankful thoughts. Stop in next Monday, November 9th, between 2 and 3:30.
LIBRARY BUDGET The City Council meets on Monday, November 16th, at 7 PM to vote on departmental budgets for 2016. The library is facing a potential cut in our funding which would result in reduced services. If you enjoy using any of our programs, materials, computers, or other resources, please consider attending the meeting or writing a brief note to support us. These can be submitted at the library or electronically through email or our social media sites. We appreciate your help.
TEEN CRAFT Stop in next Saturday, the 14th, at 2 PM to make an awesome beaded bracelet.
COMPUTER HELP Need help with your eReader, the Internet, or Microsoft Office? We hold personalized drop-in computer instruction sessions four times a month. Stop in tonight, the 3rd, from 6 – 7. Saturday hours, from 11 – 12, are also available this week on the 7th. Call ahead for an appointment or just bring your questions.
MUSIC AND MOVEMENT Toddlers are invited to shake out their sillies every Tuesday at 10 AM. We’ll have music in the air, instruments to play along, parachutes to hide under, and more. Meet other area families and come dance with us!
STORY TIME Every Wednesday at 10:30 AM we share a picture book (or two) and do a simple craft. This week we’re reading about The Pigeon, from Mo Willems’s books. All children ages 3 – 6 are welcome.
JUST ARRIVED Football season is well underway. Learn more about the first Superbowl in When it Was Just a Game. Take a peek at the science behind the refrigerator where you store your gametime goodies in Chilled. If history is more your style, learn about our state in The Spirit of New York, or revisit the 1990s in The Age of Clinton. These books – and many more – were just added to our collections.
We welcome your QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, CONCERNS, PURCHASE REQUESTS, AND PROGRAMMING IDEAS. Contact us at 312 Washington Street, email@example.com, 393-4325, or through any of our social media sites (you can do a search for Ogdensburg Public Library, or find the links on our website.)
WEEKLY HOURS are 9 AM to 8 PM Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, 9 AM to 5 PM Wednesday and Friday, and 9 AM to 5 PM on Saturday. The library will be closed next Wednesday, November 11th, in honor of Veterans Day. We look forward to hearing from you and seeing you at your library!
