WEEKLY QUOTE I have some friends, some honest friends, and honest friends are few: my pipe of briar; my open fire; a book that's not too new. – Robert W. Service, Canadian poet

JUST ARRIVED It’s never too early to introduce your children to great works of literature. Thanks to a generous donation, the library has purchased new BabyLit board books. Help your child learn colors with A Christmas Carol, shapes with Treasure Island, sounds with Sherlock Holmes and The Hound of the Baskervilles, parts of the body with Frankenstein, and more. The donation has also funded the purchase of other new board books, so drop in and check them out. We’ve also added new early readers with a Lego Star Wars theme. For older children who can read on their own, we recommend When Mischief Came to Town, about a rambunctious girl in Denmark sent to live with her grandmother, or The Goblin’s Puzzle, wherein a group of children set out to save the kingdom – and themselves. For adults, we’ve added some critically-praised novels from 2015, including The Country of Ice Cream Star and The Water Knife, both set in very grim futures. We have also added the first round of our new Civil Service Test guides. If you’re looking to change careers or advance in your workplace, come take a look. We will be adding more in the coming weeks.
