WEEKLY QUOTE  “Proud-pied April, dressed in all his trim, hath put a spirit of youth in everything.” – William Shakespeare

LIBRARY WEEK  You may have noticed our decorations going up around the library last week.  (If you haven’t, hurry in – they’re transforming!) The celebrations start next Monday with an afternoon craft and an evening lecture, then continue on Tuesday with a visit from the Thompson Park Zoo.  Join us all week for raffles, prizes, coffee, and more programming.  Check out our website or stop in for the full schedule – we have something for everyone.

AUTHOR BIRTHDAYS  Celebrate April with William Shakespeare, Harper Lee, Tom Clancy, Washington Irving, Maya Angelou, Barbara Kingsolver, and more.  We’ll have their books and movies on display by Sophie’s tank all month.  As always, we invite you to revisit an old favorite or discover a new one.

SOPHIE  Our newly-famous library turtle says ‘hello’ to all of the new friends she’s made in the last week.  We hope you stop by again soon!

Penny Kerfien, executive director of the Ogdensburg Public Library, holds Sophie Gertrude, a red-eared slider turtle, Wednesday at the library. The turtle has been living in the library for the past few months.

OGDENSBURG — She’s not a teenager, or a mask-wearing ninja, but the turtle wandering the aisles of the Ogdensburg Library these days has become a huge hit with the public.
