WEEKLY QUOTE “I see everything I paint in this world, but everybody does not see alike. To the eyes of a miser a guinea is more beautiful than the sun and a bag worn with the use of money has more beautiful proportions than a vine filled with grapes. The tree which moves some to tears of joy is in the eyes of others only a green thing that stands in the way.”  – William Blake

LIBRARY CLOSED  We will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday the 18th, for maintenance.  We will re-open at 9 AM on Thursday, May 19th.  The interior elevator will remain closed for repairs.  Story Time is cancelled this week and will return on the 25th at 10:30 AM.  We apologize for the inconvenience.

DISPLAY  We have new antiques on display in our long and our tall cabinets.  Jim Rupert has loaned us a portion of his collection of found objects.  Come take a peek at the old bottles, clay pipes, coins, and more.

WEEKLY QUOTE "It was an ideal spring day, a light blue sky, flecked with little fleecy white clouds drifting across from west to east.  The sun was shining very brightly, and yet there was an exhilarating nip in the air, which set an edge to a man's energy." – Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

AUTHOR BIRTHDAYS  Celebrate the month of May with mystery writers Arthur Conan Doyle and Tony Hillerman, spymasters Robert Ludlum and Ian Fleming, fantasists J. M. Barre and T. H. White, poets Walt Whitman and Ralph Waldo Emerson, or Daphne du Maurier, author of Rebecca.  Their books, related movies, and more are on display near Sophie’s tank.

ELEVATOR  The interior elevator is receiving additional upgrades.  It may be offline for as long as the next two weeks.  The exterior lift will remain functional.  We apologize for any inconvenience.

SOCIAL HOUR  Stop in tomorrow the 11th from 2 – 3 PM for treats and the return of our specialty coffee – and chat with some of your neighbors while you’re here.
