The library is accepting book donations again, but they must be printed within the past 5 years or newer, no mold, no dirt, etc. Thank you for your patience, and please join us at the next Friends Book Sale April 5 - 14!
WEEKLY QUOTE “Summer is not obligatory. We can start an infernally hard jigsaw puzzle in June with the knowledge that, if there are enough rainy days, we may just finish it by Labor Day, but if not, there's no harm, no penalty. We may have better things to do.” – Nancy Gibbs, American journalist
SOCIAL HOUR Social Hour is tomorrow, Wednesday the 8th, from 2 – 3 PM. Join your neighbors for coffee, treats, and conversation.
BEADING Come in to learn how to make a napkin holder with wire and beads next Monday the 13th at 3 PM. All materials are provided, and there is no cost to attend. If you would like to see additional crafting classes at different times, please offer your suggestions to library staff.
WEEKLY QUOTE “By their hands I fain would clasp them – ah! each lives but in a name; But the freedom that they fought for, and the country grand they wrought for, Is their monument to-day, and for aye.” – Thomas Dunn English, American poet and politician
ADIRONDACK MUSEUM The library once again has a discount pass for the Adirondack Museum in Blue Mountain Lake, courtesy of the Friends of the Library. It can be checked out at the front desk for two days at a time, and will give 50% off admission for four adults or two adults and children. Stop in or call for all the details.
WEEKLY QUOTE "Prithee, smite the poet in the eye when he would sing to you praises of the month of May. It is a month presided over by the spirits of mischief and madness. . . In May, nature holds up at us a chiding finger, bidding us remember that we are not gods, but overconceited members of her own great family." – O. Henry
LIBRARY CLOSED The library will be closed next Monday May 30th for Memorial Day.
TIE DYE We’ll be holding another tie-dying session this Saturday, the 28th, at 1 PM outside in the park (weather permitting.) Bring your own shirt or bandana to decorate.
