WORD OF THE WEEK NEOTERISM (noun): something new, particularly a newly-created word or phrase

 

FAMILY BOOK CLUB Bring your children this Thursday at 5 PM to read and discuss How to Train Your Dragon. They’ll have a chance to design and take home their very own scaly (or furry or feathery) creature.

 

JANUARY EVENTS In addition to the book club, we will also be holding a family craft on Thursday January 26th at 5 PM. Come in to make colorful stained “glass” mandalas with us. Social hour will be next Wednesday the 11th at 2 PM. We’ll be watching a new movie about a lost fish for our monthly movie night on Thursday the 19th at 5:30 PM.

OCTOBER PROGRAMS  Computer help sessions will be on the 1st, 4th, 15th, and 25th.  Social Hour falls on the 12th, and Movie Night on the 20th.  Our new reading groups will meet on the 13th (Family Book Club discussing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and the 27th (Comic Books and Graphic Novels.)  We’ll be holding two crafting classes: Pumpkin Candle Holders for ages 5 and up on Saturday the 15th and decorative Burlap Pumpkins for adults on the 17th.  Finally, we’ll wrap up the month with a spooky-fun Halloween party on Saturday the 29th.  Join us for treats, costumes, games, and more.

 

REGULAR PROGRAMS  Music and Movement for toddlers is Tuesday at 10 AM.  Story Time for ages 3 – 6, with picture books and crafts, is Wednesday at 10:30 AM.  Drop-on computer help is tonight the 27th and next Tuesday the 4th from 6 – 7 PM and this Saturday October 1st from 11 AM – 12 PM.  Call the library or check out our website for the specifics on all of our upcoming events.
