Take Your Child to the Library Day

1/31/17

WORD OF THE WEEK  Causimomancy: a form of fortune-telling that involves observing objects placed in a fire.

HARRY POTTER  This Saturday February 4th is “Take Your Child to the Library Day.”  We’ll be hosting a variety of Harry-Potter-themed activities all day long, so stop in to learn about potions, the care of magical creatures, and more.

VALENTINES  Stop in any time in February to check out our display of beautiful vintage Valentine’s cards.  They are in both the rectangular and circular display cases next to the main desk.

FEBRUARY PROGRAMS  February may be short on days, but we have plenty of programs to keep you busy.  To start off the month children can make a cute candy holder on Thursday the 9th at 5 PM.  Adults and older children can stop in to make paper flowers on the following Monday, the 13th, at 3 PM.  Finally, we’ll be hosting the Thompson Park Zoo (with animal visitors) again on Friday the 24th at 2 PM.  All of our monthly programs are in place, as well.  Drop-in computer sessions will be this Saturday the 4th and Saturday the 18th from 11 AM – 12 PM and next Tuesday the 7th and Tuesday the 28th from 6 PM – 7 PM.  Social hour is next Wednesday the 8th at 2 PM.  Movie night will be Thursday the 16th at 5:30 PM.
