WORD OF THE WEEK Bletcherous: ugly, either simply visually or because the object in question was poorly designed for its intended task
SOCIAL HOUR Stop in for coffee, treats, and conversation this Wednesday the 14th at 2 PM.
SCULPT This Thursday the 15th we will be running a family craft featuring salt dough. Let your imagination run free and join us at 5 PM to create a masterpiece (or at least a lump of dough you can take home.)
WORD OF THE WEEK Hythe: A small, man-made place on a river where a boat can land; a port or a harbor
RAFFLE The Friends of the Library are raffling off a beautiful hand-carved walking stick crafted by the library’s own Bob Bowman. Tickets are 1 for $1 and 3 for $2. Thy will be available all month, as the drawing will be right after Memorial Day on Tuesday, May 30th. For pictures visit our website, or stop by the library to see it in person.
MUSEUM PASSES This year, the Friends of the Library are providing two passes to local Adirondack attractions. As in previous years, one is to the Adirondack Experience in Blue Mountain Lake (formerly the Adirondack Museum.) This pass provides 50% off admission to four adults, or two adults and their children. New this year is a pass to the Wild Center in Tupper Lake. With it, admission is only $10 each for two adults and free for accompanying children. Both can be checked out at the library. Please contact us for full details. While the Wild Center opens for the season this Friday the 5th, the Adirondack Experience will not be open until Friday May 26th. They make for great day or weekend trips.
