WORD OF THE WEEK Pedagogy: The study of the theory and practice of teaching
LIBRARY CARDS If you or someone you know has never had a library card, now is the time: it’s Library Card Sign-Up Month. The Friends of the Ogdensburg Library are raffling off a $25 Wal-Mart gift card for first-time registrants. The American Library Association is also sponsoring a social media contest: take to Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook now through the 22nd to describe a superpower the library helped you develop, tag it with #LibrarySuperpower, and you might win a $100 Visa gift card. Finally, children 9 years old and younger are encouraged to stop in and color a picture of Sophie the library turtle. One lucky piece of art will win an Inspiration Art Case.
SOCIAL HOUR Stop in this Wednesday the 13th for coffee, cookies, and conversation at 2 PM.
ADULT CRAFT We’ll be making braided bracelets with a “Figure of Eight” chain knot this Thursday the 14th at 2 PM. Materials will be provided free of charge.
There are three ways to win prizes this September. September is National Card Sign-Up Month.
The first way you can win is a $100 Visa Gift card through the American Library Association by sharing what special skills, talents or interests you developed with the help of libraries to Instagram, Twitter or Facebook using #LibrarySuperPower
The Friends of the Ogdensburg Public Library are providing a $25 Wal-Mart Gift Card for one lucky new patron who signs up in September. Replacement cards are not valid for this promotion and will not be eligible. Valid photo ID or birth certificate must be provided at time of registration.
The third way you can win in September is through our Children's Coloring Contest. One lucky child (age old enough to hold a crayon to 9) will recieve a brand new art set for coloring in a picture of Sophie, the Library's Red-Earred Slider Turtle.
