WRITER OF THE WEEK Federico García Lorca was a Spanish poet, playwright, and artist in the early twentieth century. His work reflected, at different times, both the surrealism of Salvador Dali and the folklore of the southern Spanish countryside.

WRITER OF THE WEEK Syracuse native Bruce Coville is the author of many popular children’s and young adult books. One of his most famous, Aliens Ate My Homework, was recently made into a movie featuring William Shatner.
COLORING CIRCLE Join us for relaxation, camaraderie, and color this Thursday the 17th at 2 PM! Bring your colored pencils or use ours; we’ll provide the materials. All you have to do is show up and maybe bring a friend.
MOVIE NIGHT We’ll also be watching the sequel to a film about a talking bear in London this Thursday, at 5:30 PM. Bring your family and friends for popcorn and fun.
WRITER OF THE WEEK David Halberstam was a Pulitzer-Prize-winning Vietnam War correspondent, a reporter who covered the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s, and an author who wrote several acclaimed books on a variety of historical, political, and athletic topics.
BOOK SALE The sale will continue through Friday this week during the library’s regular hours. Pricing will be the same as last Saturday – $1 for hardcover books and DVDs, 50 cents for CDs, and 25 cents for paperbacks. A bag sale will follow on Saturday the 14th at $4 per bag. We still have plenty of great deals left, so stop by the auditorium whenever you have time.
SOCIAL HOUR In honor of National Library Week we’re combining our monthly social hour with an open house for the public and staff from other local libraries. Join us this Wednesday the 11th at 2 PM for special treats and conversations.
