50s and 60s Concert

5/1/18

WRITER OF THE WEEK  This week’s author is Larry Niven, writer of “hard” (science-based) science fiction whose career has spanned decades, from the 1960s through the 2010s.

FREE CONCERT  This Friday May 4th we’re hosting a nostalgic look back at the 1950s and 1960s – complete with sing-along.  Join New York Blues Hall of Famer Marc Black for an afternoon of memories and songs starting at 3 PM.

MAY EVENTS  Beyond the concert, we have plenty of other fun programming at the library.  Our adult craft will be on Thursday the 10th at 2 PM – we’re making simple wire thread-wrapped sculptures.  Movie night, featuring a famous British-Peruvian bear, is on the following Thursday at 5:30 PM.  On Friday the 18th we’ll be having a May-flowery craft for toddlers at 11 AM.  This month’s family book club selection is the graphic novel Bluffton, featuring silent film star Buster Keaton.  The discussion (and film-clip watching) will be on Thursday the 24th at 5 PM.  We’ll be wrapping up the month with a craft program for teen on Friday the 31st at 4 PM.  Other monthly programs include computer help tonight and Tuesday the 22nd from 6 – 7 PM as well as Saturdays the 5th and 19th from 11 AM – 12 PM, and Social Hour on Wednesday the 9th at 2 PM.
