FAMILY BOOK CLUB This month we’re reading and discussing Amulet: The Stonekeeper. We’ll be meeting this Thursday the 21st at 5 PM and making our very own magical amulets (magical properties not guaranteed by the library.) New families are always welcome.

REGULAR PROGRAMS Music and Movement for toddlers is Tuesday at 10 AM. Story Time for ages 3 – 6, with picture books and crafts, is on Wednesday at 10:30 AM. (There is no Saturday Story Time this week.) Personalized computer help will be available next Tuesday the 28th from 6 – 7 PM. OCTOBER EVENTS Edible slime returns just in time for Halloween. Join us on Thursday the 12th at 5 PM to make goop out of common kitchen ingredients. Movie night will feature an action-packed film on Thursday the 19th at 5:30 PM, and this month’s family book club on the 26th involves the Goosebumps series by R. L. Stine (or, if you prefer, Smile by Raina Telgemeier.) There will be a pumpkiny crafting session for adults on Thursday the 19th at 2 PM. Finally, we’ll be wrapping up the month with a Halloween Party for children ages 3 – 12 on Saturday the 28th at 3 PM. Join us in costume for treats, games, and more.
BOOK SALE The Friends of the Library will be holding their autumn book sale from Thursday October 26th through Friday November 3rd, with the bag sale on Saturday the 4th. There will be plenty of bargains on books, DVDs, and more.

BUILDING CHALLENGE Can you outsmart the Big Bad Wolf? Find out this Thursday the 27th at 2 PM. Children ages 5 – 9 are invited to try to build a huff-and-puff-proof home for a little piggy out of the materials we provide.

LEGO CHALLENGE Can Lego blocks solve every problem? Probably not. But children ages 6 and up are invited to try building a solution to a puzzle we’ll pose. Join us this Thursday the 6th at 2 PM.
FREE CONCERT MOOD will present their second summer concert in the park this Thursday the 6th at 6 PM. We recommend bringing blankets or chairs to better enjoy the music in comfort. The Friends of the Library will be running a 50/50 raffle during the show.

TIE DYE Bring an item of clothing to the park this Saturday the 27th at 2 PM and make a tie-dye masterpiece. (Wearing old clothes is also recommended; the dye will stain any fabric, whether you intended it to do so or not.) This program will be canceled if the weather does not cooperate, so if in doubt call the library.
