On July 11th we’ll be blasting off in an introduction to rocketry with Edge on Science; Fragile Planet wildlife center will return on July 27th; and we’ll be hosting an ice cream social with the Fire Department on August 15th. SUMMER READING Children can now sign up for summer reading. Visit our website for a link to register online. (They will need a parent or guardian’s email.) Once they’ve registered, they can track their books, earn points for prizes, design their own superheroes, and participate in fun activities. Those without computer access can participate using paper reading logs (available at the desk) and will be eligible for the same rewards and raffle tickets. We’ll have a full schedule of superhero (and supervillain) themed programming in July and August. Don’t miss it!
SOCIAL HOUR Our next social hour is tomorrow (Wednesday) the 10th, at 1 PM. Stop by to talk to your neighbors, drink coffee, and munch on treats.
PUZZLES The library provides many ways of meeting new people. If you can’t make the social hour or any of our other programs, you can stop by whenever we’re open to work on a jigsaw puzzle. We almost always have a 500 - 750 piece puzzle set out on a table directly in front of the bay windows by the new books. Anyone can contribute – spend five minutes or an hour hunting down just the right piece, alone or with friends. The library also welcomes donations (with all the pieces and in the original box, please) to help us keep this informal service going.
