Welcome to the first day of December! While you’re making plans for the holidays and winding down the year, remember that the library can help. Whether you’re looking for an escape from the hectic preparations, trying to make that perfect side dish for a family dinner, or hoping to re-watch an old holiday classic, our collections have what you need.
WREATHS The Friends of the Library are raffling off two more attractive Christmas wreaths to decorate your home this season. Tickets are fifty cents each, or three for a dollar. The drawing takes place on December 7th, so don’t delay. Wreaths are on display in the library and are pictured on our website.
DECEMBER Coming up next month: crafts with candles, crafts with (plastic) goldfish, a chance to spin a dreidel to win chocolate, and a chance to visit with Santa Claus. All dates and times are available on our website, or just watch this space. As an early reminder, the library will be closed on the 24th, 25th, 26th, 31st, and January 1st, so plan your reading and viewing needs ahead of time!
AUTHOR BIRTHDAYS Take a trip into the future or into the past with H. G. Wells or Edgar Rice Burroughs, chill your bones with the supernatural monsters of Stephen King or the more human monsters of Agatha Christie, explore the first half of the 20th century with F. Scott Fitzgerald, Upton Sinclair, or Truman Capote, and sit down with a book of poetry from O Henry, T. S.
Welcome to September at the library. With the weather cooling, we have programming for all ages and, as always, the latest books and DVDs available on our shelves. Stop in to try something new or revisit an old favorite.
COMPUTER HELP Need help creating electronic documents, navigating the internet, or using your new eReader? We can help. Drop in tonight (September 1st) from 6 – 7. Call ahead for an appointment or just bring in your questions.
SOCIAL HOUR Our next social hour is Wednesday the 9th at 2 PM. Stop by to talk to your neighbors, drink coffee, and munch on treats.
