Holiday Hours

WEEKLY QUOTE  "At Christmas I no more desire a rose than wish a snow in May’s new-fangled mirth; but like of each thing that in season grows." – William Shakespeare

HOLIDAY HOURS  The library will be closed this Saturday December 24th and Monday the 26th and next Saturday December 31st.  We wish you the best, safest, and happiest of celebrations.

AUTHOR BIRTHDAYS  It’s not too late to get festive with some of the writers celebrating birthdays in December.  Visit our monthly display and check out works by Elizabeth Berg, Arthur C. Clarke, Mary Higgins Clark, Jane Austen, Noel Coward, Emily Dickinson, Shirley Jackson, E. A. Robinson, James Thurber, and more.

WEEKLY QUOTE  “In November, the trees are standing all sticks and bones. Without their leaves, how lovely they are, spreading their arms like dancers. They know it is time to be still.” – Cynthia Rylant, American children’s author

DECEMBER EVENTS  Stop in from 3 – 4 PM next Monday the 5th to make snowflakes out of clothespins, or join us on Saturday the 17th at 3 PM to make traditional decorations out of popcorn, cranberries, and paper.  Social Hour will be on Wednesday the 14th at 2 PM, and movie night follows on the 15th at 5:30 PM (we’ll be watching a recent animated film about pets.)

REGULAR PROGRAMS  Music and Movement for toddlers is Tuesday at 10 AM.  Story Time for ages 3 – 6, with picture books and crafts, is Wednesday at 10:30 AM.  There will be an additional Story Time the first two Saturdays in December (the 3rd and the 10th,) also at 10:30 AM.  Drop-in computer help hours will be this Saturday December 3 from 11 AM – 12 PM and next Tuesday the 6th from 6 – 7 PM.  Call the library or check out our website for the details on all of our upcoming events.

HOLIDAY HOURS  The library will be closed on December 24th, 26th, and 31st (a Saturday, a Monday, and a Saturday.)

Welcome to September at the library.  With the weather cooling, we have programming for all ages and, as always, the latest books and DVDs available on our shelves.  Stop in to try something new or revisit an old favorite.

COMPUTER HELP  Need help creating electronic documents, navigating the internet, or using your new eReader?  We can help.  Drop in tonight (September 1st) from 6 – 7.  Call ahead for an appointment or just bring in your questions.

SOCIAL HOUR  Our next social hour is Wednesday the 9th at 2 PM.  Stop by to talk to your neighbors, drink coffee, and munch on treats.
